The Cardiology Department is led by the team of Academician Ge Junbo, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of the China Cardiovascular Health Alliance, Director of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University, and President of Rizhao Heart Hospital. This team includes many outstanding cardiovascular disease specialists from across the country.
The hospital is equipped with five leading interventional catheterization rooms, capable of performing various complex cardiovascular surgeries. The operating rooms are outfitted with advanced equipment, including the Philips FD-10 digital angiography system, PHILIPS Efficia DFM100 external defibrillation monitors, Boston Scientific intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) systems, and atherectomy devices, along with internationally advanced CARTO-3 three-dimensional mapping systems and Bard multielectrode electrophysiology systems.
The department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common cardiovascular conditions such as coronary heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and valvular heart diseases. It routinely conducts various cardiovascular catheter examinations and complex interventional surgeries, with particular expertise in the interventional treatment of acute myocardial infarction and various high-risk complex coronary heart diseases. The department also regularly performs radiofrequency ablation for arrhythmias (including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia, and supraventricular tachycardia) and various pacemaker implants and left atrial appendage occlusions, all with techniques that are at the leading level in the country.

The department is dedicated to the standardized and regulated diagnosis and treatment of various cardiovascular diseases. It has rich clinical experience in the management of complicated, critical cardiac conditions. Emphasis is placed on disease prevention and follow-up, implementing comprehensive management of cardiovascular diseases throughout the care continuum.
Routine interventional diagnosis and treatment of various cardiac diseases are performed, with particular expertise in radiofrequency ablation for tachyarrhythmias, pacemaker therapy for bradyarrhythmias and certain types of heart failure, and interventional treatment for complex and critical coronary heart disease. The department is continuously adopting new clinical diagnostic technologies, leading the region in radiofrequency ablation for various arrhythmias (such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular premature beats, and ventricular tachycardia) with 3D mapping assistance, left atrial appendage occlusion to prevent stroke in atrial fibrillation, and physiological pacing techniques. Since the hospital's opening, it has been recognized as an "Advanced Department in Hospital Management" for consecutive years.

Successfully completed Rizhao's first CRT-D (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy-Defibrillator) implantation, the province's first left bundle branch pacing cardiac resynchronization therapy combined with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (LOT-CRTD), one-stop surgery for a cardiac contractility modulator combined with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (CCM+ICD), and percutaneous renal sympathetic nerve radiofrequency ablation (RDN), among others.
