The Department of Cardiovascular Internal Medicine is led by Academician Ge Junbo, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of the Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance, Director of the Department of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University, and President of Rizhao Cardiovascular Hospital. The team consists of a group of outstanding experts in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in China.
The hospital has five advanced interventional catheterization rooms capable of performing various complex and challenging cardiovascular surgeries. The operating rooms are equipped with a large Philips FD-10 digital angiography system, PHILIPS Efficia DFM100 external defibrillator monitor, Boston Scientific intravascular ultrasound system (IVUS), and atherectomy intervention device, as well as internationally advanced CARTO-3 three-dimensional mapping systems and Bard multi-lead electrophysiology systems, among other cardiac interventional medical equipment.

The department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently occurring cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, hypertension, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and valvular disease. It routinely performs various cardiovascular catheter examinations and complex interventional procedures, with particular expertise in the interventional treatment of acute myocardial infarction and various high-risk complex coronary heart diseases.
The First Diagnosis Group of the Cardiology Department continually sets new records for emergency cardiac care, achieving a hospital response time of just nine minutes for acute myocardial infarction (DtoB). They actively perform complex surgeries, including left main bifurcation lesions, coronary atherectomy, and the reopening of chronic coronary occlusions, utilizing IVUS, OCT, FFR, IABP, and ECMO for interventional treatments.
