The Endoscopy Center at Rizhao Hospital Affiliated to Qingdao University / Rizhao Cardiovascular Hospital has been in operation since 2020. Currently, the center includes various functional areas such as an endoscopy triage desk, waiting area, treatment procedure room, anesthesia recovery room, office area, decontamination room, and endoscope storage room.
The department is equipped with internationally advanced Olympus Elite CV-290SL series main units and H290 gastrointestinal endoscopes and therapeutic endoscopes. It routinely conducts gastrointestinal endoscopy examinations, chromoendoscopy, and 13C breath tests, among other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The treatment room is fitted with a Mindray V60 anesthesia machine, as well as an ERBE high-frequency electrosurgical unit (Vio 300S) accompanied by a water pump and a carbon dioxide pump, which meet the requirements for all current endoscopic minimally invasive surgeries.

The Endoscopy Center boasts a first-class professional academic team proficient in advanced medical knowledge and exceptional treatment techniques. In collaboration with Professor Xu Meidong from Shanghai East Hospital, the center has established the Xu Meidong Work Studio. Currently, in addition to performing painless gastrointestinal endoscopy for detailed examinations, the center actively engages in urgent hemostatic treatments for upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding during endoscopy. It also conducts endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) to treat early-stage gastrointestinal cancers and precancerous lesions, as well as endoscopic stent placement for upper and lower gastrointestinal obstructions.
In collaboration with the in-hospital Health Management Center, the department provides a "one-stop" service for the diagnosis and treatment of upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases for health check-up clients. It also delivers high-quality endoscopic diagnosis and treatment for hospitalized patients with "vascular-related" conditions.
